It used to open on registering, which is the wrong half for the people most likely to be looking at it: somebody on a new phone, or signed out, who already owns the name they are about to type. Typing it on the registering side answers that the name is taken, which is true and reads as their account being gone. Registering is still one tap away wherever it is offered. Where it is not offered is a private server. An account there comes from an invitation link, and opening the link is what creates it, so every registration the app could send is one the server turns down. The account endpoint now says which of the two a deployment is, and the app drops the choice instead of showing one that cannot be used. The two buttons that open the screen say so as well.
FTStore
Feather, made for everyone. Sign, install and manage iOS/iPadOS apps on-device with a friendlier UI. Stock app, no tracking.
Note
FTStore is a hard fork of Feather by Samara / claration, which is licensed under GPL-3.0. It is rebranded as
app.ftstore/ ftstore.app and has since developed independently.

Repository
| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
ios/ |
The iOS/iPadOS app. Xcode project, submodules, local Swift packages. |
web/ |
The server behind ftstore.app: admin dashboard, app feed, IPA downloads. See web/README.md. |
manager/ |
Companion app that installs and updates FTStore on-device. |
admin/ |
The dashboard as its own iOS app, for whoever runs the server. |
Building
The three apps need macOS + Xcode; the server needs only Docker.
git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/FTStuff/FTStore.git
cd FTStore/ios && make # also: manager/, admin/
cd FTStore/web && docker compose up -d

Acknowledgements
- Samara for Feather, which FTStore is based on.
- Ryuk for RyukSign, a fork of the same upstream: its document picker fix is adapted here, and several repairs across signing, installing and the rest of the app follow the ones made there.
